Hi, I was invited by Fish Indie to be interviewed for their TALK:craft feature, a behind the brand Q&A series they run with Etsy sellers, if you’d like to read about how I started the Moozle brand, my fashion background and a peak behind the scenes, you can read the whole piece here, but if not…here’s a few tasty bits…:)
“I studied for my fashion design degree in London and after that worked in-house with some great designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Tanya Sarne at Ghost (back in the early 90’s when Ossie Clark would pop into the design studio with paint brushes holding up his top-knot).”
“I used to have a huge workspace, with 8 industrial sewing machines, a 15 foot pattern cutting table, 3 full time machinists, an office, a kitchenette and cloakroom…. Now I have a desk in the dining room!”
“That’s the power of the internet, it has allowed people like myself to create our own way of earning a living. Just like in years gone by when women used to take in sewing jobs, repair work or laundry to pay the bills, Those women were entrepreneurs, but were just treated like maids really.
Now we are sewing things for people thousands of miles away instead of a few streets away. A cottage industry for the global village.”
Thank you FISH Indie! x
